Oh Sara & Michael! These two cutie pies are getting married in Santa Barbara in October, but we headed down the coast to Laguna Niguel for their engagement session. I'd never been to the Laguna Niguel Botanical Preserve before, so I'm glad Sara introduced me to this absolutely gorgeous spot! There's such a fun variety of locations within the preserve to shoot at, so even with other people at the park at the same time it never felt crowded.
Fun fact! I include complimentary engagement sessions in all of my wedding packages now! There are a few reasons for that.
First of all - It gives me time to get to know you. We get to chat about everything from wedding planning details to the show you're bingeing on Netflix. Even more important than that, the engagement session gives me time to see how you and your fiance interact! I'm allllll about creating images that truly reflect you, so while we're shooting I'm observing you interacting and making mental notes for how to make the wedding day a fabulous experience.
Secondly - You get comfortable with me! Most people don't have someone with a camera following them around all day. Spoiler alert... that's how the wedding day will go! So your engagement session is valuable time for you to start to loosen up and be yourself in front of the camera. By the wedding day you're already a pro.
Finally - Your engagement is a special time in your life, albeit short! Your photos gain more value as time goes on, and in fifty years you'll be able to look back at these photos to remember the very specific time of your life when you were engaged.
With that being said, enjoy Sara & Michael's engagement session and I can't wait to shoot their wedding!
Looking to have your big day captured in a clean and bold way? I know we’ll be a perfect fit.
